PAS 63100:2024 now available
Sponsored by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the long-awaited standard PAS 63100:2024 Electrical installations – protection against fire of battery energy storage systems for use in dwellings – Specification is now available.
Better still, it is available as a free download from the BSI web-site access with this link
The standard covers physical requirements for battery units and the location in which they are installed, precautions for protection against electrical faults, etc.

Public Consultation: PAS 63100 Electrical installations – Protection against fire of battery energy storage systems for use in dwellings – Specification
The Draft of the new PAS 63100 standard for protection against fire of battery energy storage systems for use in dwellings, for which our Managing Director, Graham Kenyon, is the Technical Author, is now available for public comment on BSI’s Standards Development web-site.
The public commenting period commences 26 June 2023, and on closes on 24 July 2023.
Electrician’s Guide to Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems, 3rd Edition, now available to pre-order
The 3rd Edition of the IET’s Electrician’s Guide to Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems, updated and edited by our Managing Director, Graham Kenyon, is due on 30 June 2021, and is now available to pre-order.
Key features of the 3rd Edition include essential guidance on special fire risk, system design and integration, installation competency, information, advice and guidance on managing the requirements of BS 7671:2018+A1:2020, BS 5839-1:2017 and BS 5839-6:2019+A1:2020.
Draft for public comment: Electrician’s Guide to Fire Detection and Alarm Systems 3rd Edition
The draft of the 3rd Edition of the IET Electricians guide to fire detection and alarms systems, the revisions to which are authored by our Principal Graham Kenyon, is now available for public comment from the IET web-site.
Comments can be submitted until 11 September 2020.
This comprehensive Guide is updated to accommodate the latest revisions of BS 5839-1, BS 5839-6, BS 7671, and Building Regulations Approved Documents (or equivalent) from across the devolved nations.
This publication is expected in February 2021.
